Lego Xbox Games

I’ve been a fan of the Lego style Xbox games. I currently own Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, Lego Batman and Lego Indiana Jones. I’m waiting for prices to drop so I can get Lego Indiana Jones 2, and Lego Harry Potter to add to the collection. I also recently found out that they are releasing Lego Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars in March, 2011, and later on; Lego Pirates of the Caribbean which I’m looking forward to also.

I think the Lego games are great fun to play, I doesn’t require me putting much thought into my game and I can just play it and go along with it. I also think this style of game could branch out into some great movie trilogies and movie series.

I’d like to see Lego Grand Theft Auto, and also Lego James Bond and Lego Matrix. It could really be a hit. Maybe even Lego Jurassic Park? Take some of those epic style movie trilogies and turn them into Lego games for consoles.

I suppose I may think of more as I go along and think of more movies I like.

Got myself a new pc… kinda.

I recently bought some used parts off a mate of mine cheaply to get something of an upgraded PC.

I was using the following, which will become a home server (maybe).

AMD 3800+ 64bit @ 2.4ghz
MSI K8N Neo Platinum board
2.5gb DDR2 400mhz
2 x IDE drives
Nvidia 8600GT (512mb)
500w Coolermaster PSU

I’ve moved to the following
Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 @ 3.0ghz
Gigabyte n680sli-dq6 board
4gb Corsair DDR2 1333mhz
1 x 500gb Seagate SATA drive
Nvidia 8800GTX
750w Coolermaster PSU.
Coolermaster RC-690 case
Thermaltake ISGC-200 CPU Cooler

I have 2 x 1tb external drives attached to the server, and I’m hoping to change the IDE drives inside to sata and fill it up for serving media to my xbox 360. I also want to add a second 500gb drive and run it as a mirror of the primary drive for backup. Then later add another 8800GTX for SLI so I have something to play with, with any luck it will make good for using Fraps for some game movies. The Coolermaster case comes with fan’s containing LED’s, which I will swap out as I’m not big on lights in my case.

At a later stage, I will be mapping out my home network with Visio and showing the devices in the network it uses.

Michael Atkinson, get your shit together

I haven’t been following the whole Michael Atkinson thing closely, because I’m not really into politics. But basically from what I can see, this asshat doesn’t like video games. Especially not violent ones or ones involving sex.
I think he really does miss the point, if kids are getting games that they shouldn’t be playing. Then there are 2 parties at fault, 1. The parents for buying the thing. 2. The shops for selling games to kids under the recommended age. Maybe there is a good place to start looking as to why these kids are getting these video games. Giving Australia an R18+ classification is a GOOD thing to do, at the moment any kid can walk into a game store and pick up a copy of Playboy Mansion for XBOX Classic, and take them all of 15 minutes to have a Playboy Bunny on a bed, digital breasts in the kids face getting her brains shagged out. I know this, because it took me all of 15 minutes to do it.
But that game really doesn’t interest me, ironically. I think Prototype is a hell of a lot more entertaining.

I do wonder if Michael Atkinson has kids, do they play games? Do they go to Westminster School and realise that the person supporting their kids in the I.T. Department likes to play war games? Bet he wouldn’t like that would he! That would be ironic :)
Accusing Gamers4Croydon of dirty tricks and what not, well that just gives me a reason to vote for them because Michael Atkinson sounds like a right blind knob.
I’m considering writing a letter to him, not every gamer is into dirty tricks.
Robin Williams plays games, he’s a funny man. He plays Day of Defeat.
Dave Chappelle plays games, he’s a funny man. He plays World of Warcraft.
Megan Fox plays games, she’s hot! She plays console games like Mortal Kombat.

Ben Affleck, Vin Diesel, Cameron Diaz, Hulk Hogan… All World of Warcraft players. Tom Cruise, Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt all fans of getting on Wii Fit.

See, not everyones into dirty tricks Mr. Atkinson.

This game sucks…

It seems that the majority of pc and video game retailers seem to revolve around GAME, Gametraders and the usual EB Games.
When I buy a new game, I like to know if it’s any good first and usually thats what demo discs are for. A while back I went and purchased Race Driver GRID from GAME. Once I’d paid for the game, they gave me the usual guff about waranties and scratch policies and all that stuff. But what took me by surprise was that GAME offer a 7 day “this game sucks” policy. This by far has pulled me back there for a few more console game purchases, knowing that if a game sucks, I can take it back. So if you’re looking for a good place to buy your console and PC games from, give them a shot, and also sign up for their membership. Each time you buy a game, they’ll add it to reward points and eventually clock up enough for a free game.

Get your Veyron

This morning I saw something I wanted to see for a long time in driving games, some actual supercars. Forza 3 for XBOX 360 will finally feature one of the worlds fastest road cars.

Forza Motorsport 3 developer Turn 10 Studios has decided to share some exclusive video footage with Autoblog (and our sister site Joystiq) that features one of our favorite cars: the Bugatti Veyron. When the game is released, you’ll be able to take the wheel of the world’s most expensive ‘bug’ without having to drop $1.6 million large. And of course, you’ll get to customize it all you like. Take that, Sang Bleu

Said Turn 10 head Dan Greenawalt, “Including the Veyron allows our fans and community to experience one of the world’s rarest supercars at an unparalleled level of realism. Few people will ever get to see this car in person, let alone race or drive one, so the fact that we have it in Forza Motorsport 3 where it’s fully drivable, tunable, paintable and even damageable is a very exciting concept to us. We hope our community shares that passion and enthusiasm!”

Damaging the Veyron in the game wouldn’t be as bad as overcooking the real thing into the Armco, but we still recommend against it. However, having driven the thing twice, we can say that if you can get the actual Veyron to lay down rubber or drift through corners, then please give us a call – we have a trophy for you… Check out the video footage after the jump.
