It’s the end of the world as we know it!

A few weeks ago I moved house, in with an old mate I’ve known since high school and another person. A week later the other housemate tells us she’s moving out and consequently has taken her internet access with her.
So for the moment the only internet access I have is when I’m at work (like now when I should be doing some documentation), or when I’m at the parents place to steal their wireless.
I’ve ordered a new Telstra landline, but somehow they’ve stuffed that up. But that doesn’t surprise me, it is Telstra after all. But I’ve had that fixed this morning and hopefully should see my home line connected Friday morning. Then I have to wait on the provisioning for my Internode DSL, the sad thing is I won’t get any ADSL2+. There isn’t enough ports available so I’ll be on the waiting list for when they have more ports installed in their DSLAM. Which could be up to a 3 month wait, but I guess there isn’t much else I can do. I don’t particularly want another ISP to sign up with. Adam Internet or iiNet would have been next in line, and probably iiNet because they have free XBOX Live content.

I must say, I don’t miss having the internet in the mornings. I get stuff done and get to work early, but then I get to work early and sit on the internet and catch up on the things I usually do.

I’ve also just noticed that Internet Explorer 7 doesn’t support AJAX very well and I can’t drag the box to see my text bigger!

I miss having the internet in the evenings though, I quite like sitting on the couch watching tv and chatting on msn. But have started watching movies and doing budgets, and blog posts in MS Word to pass the time. I have no TV at the moment either, no phone other than my mobile. So I do update my twitter often via text messages.

I also realised I should not open so many tabs in IE with it crashing like American Airlines!

So at the moment, no internet, no tv, no money, going completely insane, and a hyper extended knee from cricket on Saturday that’s topped off my week nicely.

Just saw this via Gizmodo.

The Simpsons have finally gone HD, also with a new opening scene. Youtube video below.

I hear the sounds of…

A new keyboard.

No more clackity clack from the old Microsoft keyboard I had before. Pure bliss, although I’ll have to get used to the layout on this one. It’s a bit different.

$49 from IT Warehouse, can’t really complain about that.

Comedy Central – Ben Bailey

My housemate recently showed me Ben Baileys stand up skit from Comedy Central, best laugh I’ve had in a while and thought it’d be worth putting the videos up for all to see. This is just pure gold.

Microsoft, one day they’ll get it right.

Sometimes even the simplest things escape Microsoft, this is probably the funniest thing I’ve seen in a while, with the exception of a Windows General error on my GPS Navigation.

According to Microsoft, their own Windows 7 beta that I downloaded from MSDN and installed on my laptop… isn’t genuine! Here’s a screenshot for some loltastic times.
