Taken

Plot: A former spy (Neeson) relies on his old skills to save his estranged daughter (Grace), who has been forced into the slave trade.
Review: It’s been said in a few reviews that it’s the best action/beat the shit out of the other guy type movie since The Bourne Trilogy. It’s very similar in that aspect, Liam Neeson pretty much goes after some people who kidnapped his daughter while she’s on holidays in Paris. Some bits are missing in this movie to give you that sense of where the character Neeson plays, but I can only guess he’s coming from a special ops military kind of background. He tracks down these guys and pretty much beats the living shit out of any one who gets in his way. It’s kinda like buying home brand choc chip biscuits from the shop. There’s no frills, but it’s still a choc chip buscuit that hits people!
There are a few glimpses where you’ll think “Liam, you’re to old for this shit” but it’s still an entertaining movie none the less. Even the girlie managed to enjoy this one and didn’t tell me it was predictable. To round if off, plenty of bang bang, vroom vroom and some bits of eye candy placed throughout the movie. If you like people who do things bluntly, then this movie you should like. I especially liked the “I’m going to hunt you down, and kill you” and the bits to follow up on that later in the movie.
